In Diablo 2 Resurrected, gems are pluggable items that increase the player character's stats. As players progress on their quest to eliminate Diablo and his tyrannical terrorist organization, players will begin to accumulate a full set of insertable gems that can be added to the player's armor and weapons to boost stats.

Diablo 2 Resurrected has seven different gem types in five different tiers. Chipped is the lowest and Perfect is the highest. Each gem type provides D2R Items players with different properties when embedded in different parts of the kit. Therefore, putting a gem into a player's weapon will gain different properties than welding it into the player's body armor.

As the early stages of the game progress, players will likely end up with an inventory full of broken gems. Thankfully, players will be able to use the elusive Horadric Cube to combine these into a sparkling new perfect gem. Players will be able to combine three gems of the same level to get one gem of a higher level.

So if the player combines three broken rubies, the player will receive a defective ruby, and so on. To combine gems in Diablo 2 Resurrected, players need to open the Horadric Cube, place three gems into the slots, and click on ‘Transmute’. They can also be upgraded in the Shrines of Gems that appear randomly in the game.

However, players cannot select improved gems, and if the D2 Resurrected Items for Sale player does not have a gem in their inventory, the player will receive a randomly smashed gem. Of these, the Horadric Cube is the more reliable method, but it's always worth a visit when the player finds a gem shrine.
